Privacy Policy

Therapy and the content of discussion is confidential. Information will not be disclosed to outside parties without prior written permission. There are certain situations in which the law requires information obtained in therapy to be revealed without permission. These situations are:

  1. Suspected child abuse or elder/dependent abuse to the appropriate authorities for investigation.

  2. If a client is in danger to oneself or others, a therapist is ethically bound to protect the client’s life or intended victims by contacting the authorities and/or emergency services.

  3. Court ordered therapy or court proceeding; a judge can order that therapy records be disclosed if it is relevant to the proceedings.

  4. Permission to communicate with other parties (family, friend, provider, etc.), requires a Release of Information Form. Arrangements will be made to communicate with the designated party.
